In April 2013, Empire installed engineered (we thought it was pure) bamboo flooring in our South Florida condo, which is located on the ocean. We had asked them how long the flooring needed to acclimate in our building; they said it was not necessary. The flooring immediately began warping.  After making limited repairs, and admitting that the installers had neglected to cut enough "expansion", Empire is now claiming that the warping is due to high humidity in our condo!  Not only do we have a humidistat, and keep the temp. around 70 - 75 degrees; Empire chose to install engineered bamboo and did not glue it down but rather installed as a "floating" floor.  Evidently, according to other professional contractors and flooring firms in South Florida, Empire goofed big time.

Empire now refuses to do anything about our floors.  They have left us with gaps in the flooring, which we trip over, and they removed the quarter-round trim, so we have unsightly gaps and edges around the walls.

We are quite appalled at Empire's dishonesty and refusal to claim responsibility.  If they are unable to provide a reliable bamboo product in South Florida, then they should not be selling it.
