The location of this apartment complex is great. It's right downtown across from steele park, it's convenient. The apartments are cute, but when you look closely they are cheaply made. My biggest problem with this apartment complex is having to work with the office. They never answer the phone or return phone calls. When I do have to talk with them I question their competence. My biggest headache is when I need maintenance. First since they never answer the phone, you have to leave a message. Then they never call you to say they got it so I usually have to leave two or three messages because they "never got the message" before. I've lived here for five months and have had 3 different locks on my door, my washing machine break, the vents to my air condition barely blowing, leaky faucets and the air conditioning break twice. When the air conditioning does break they don't make it a priority because they say it's not hot enough outside. I'm currently praying for a way out of my lease.

I've been at the Empirian on Central for just under three months. I live just around the corner from the Steele Park complex, but our building is operated by the same management company. It is true that when we moved in we had a bad (I mean really bad) experience with roaches, but I've found out later it was because the guy who lived in the unit prior to me was a pig. Management scheduled bombing, baiting and spraying until the problem was under control. We've had several problems and maintenance requests upon move in, and half of them have been completed. We've had our calls returned, and our maintenance requests done in a timely fashion. The same maintenance guys work both properties. Short of getting out of her lease entirely, perhaps Karen could request a move down the street to the Empirian on Central complex. I'm not sure how old Steele Park building is, but ours is only ten years old, so it might be better.
