The Marion County deputy prosecutor who was assistant chief of the sex crimes division was fired this week for sending a romantic e-mail to a 16-year-old girl."I'm 53-years-old, and believe me, I know what love is -- I know how it feels," Meisenhelder wrote. "I love you as I have only loved two other women in my life. I also know that my feelings are not going to change anytime soon."

According to a memo placed in Meisenhelder's personnel file Thursday, at a recent meeting with the girl, "he turned the lights down, lit a candle, made non-alcoholic Bananas Foster for them and played music from the sound track of 'Phantom of the Opera.' "He should be incarcerated for 20 years for this crap. d**n, a fifty three year old after a 16 yr old. honestly, what did he think she'd see in him... its pretty disgusting to me.

Inaccurate Report

There are a number of inaccuracies in this report.  First, contrary to the headline, this was not a "sexual affair."  Second, the incident occurred more than five years prior to the founding of Employment & Civil Rights Legal Services.  Third, the report implies that there was some type of criminal activity involved, which is untrue.

I have always acknowledged the inappropriate nature of my actions.  However, to suggest that this incident is related in any way to my work at Employment & Civil Rights Legal Services is simply incorrect.
