Several job openings posted on the Atlanta Journal and Constitution job listing website, ajcjobs.com are fictitious openings designed to snag applicants into agreeing to receiving emails or purchasing education. I have just learned that Employment Select is a fictitious "verification" firm for one of the jobs I applied for. I asked the interviewed to call me on a different line and he said he could not, but could give me a number to call his firm (Employment Select) myself. When I called the number, I was asked to provide a code, which of course I could not. Such a waste of time!

I wonder if Career Network and possibly Mandarin Employment are scams as well because the application process is cumbersome, long, and repeatedly asks if you want to "hear more" about education opportunities. I do not think I will be applying for jobs that lead me to those "online application" sites anymore.
