I live in the UK and was in the car park of our local Tesco supermarket when a man in called to me from his silver citreon mpv. I wound down the window of my van to find that he wanted directions to Heathrow Airport, which I gave him.

He claimed, as I have read on other emails on this site that he had been attending a fashion show and wanted to get rid of his samples to save taking them back to Italy.

He showed me 5 different Jackets and asked me to feel the quality which I must admit felt good 4 of the jackets were suede effect an one appeared to be leather. I don't know the 1st thing about fashion and couldn't really care less about it. The jackets all had EMPORIO FASHION, on the label.

He asked me what I thought one of the suede jackets was worth and I said around a 100 he said no and held up 3 fingers and said it was worth 300. He offered me all 5 for 250 saying maybe I could sell on the Jackets to friends and keep one for myself.

I told him I don't have that kind of money and he said ok make me an offer I said I didn't want to insult him but I'd offer him 10% of what he was asking. 25.00 he seemed rather taken aback by this offer! However he told me the jackets were not stolen an gave me his business card and showed his Italian Passport and rental car details, in an effort to prove he was genuine.

Eventually I'm afraid I was persuaded to buy 1 jacket of my choice for 25.00 then he said he could sell me another 2 or 3 for a further 25.00 which I refused. He then thanked me for my help and I wished him a safe journey. He was Italian in apperance around 50 or so years of age well dressed wearing a designer suit. I just wish I'd taken the regisration of his car.

The Jackets not bad though shame it's a fake! I only found out this was a scam whilst searching for Emporio's web site on google. So watch out! If you see this man threaten to phone the police straight away. Luckily I only lost 25.00, still a lot of money to me but not as much as others seem to have been conned out of.

It makes me sick to my stomach to know I was a victim of these people. I was excited when I got this jackets for a deal. It wasn't til my daughter got home and I explained the situation, that I realized that I might have been scammed. The same thing happen to me, I was walking out of the Wal-Mart in Brigham City when the man approached me in a white car. He said asked for the airport and offered me a free jacket. I told him no and I was headed to work, but he insits I take it. Than he told me he was headed back to his country and he didnt want to pay sales taxes on the jackets!

Hi folks.

I fell in that little blow now here in Brazil. He was identified as Luigi Rinaldi. Seller said it was the brand Emporio Armani.
The same story, same headache for you.
And now? what can we do?
He told me that his plane would leave the international airport of Guarulhos in sao paulo. The time was scheduled for 19hs (7pm) for the company Alitalia.

Amazingly yesterday someone approached me in Ljubljana in the same manner. In the city center. He didn't say, he is offering Armani clothes and I never do such things, because I am really suspicious. This time - I don't know why - I believed this guy's story, beacuse his car and his outfit were really chic and I simply didn't expect that someone like this would be selling clothes on the street like some gipsy. I bought two clothes (a suite and a leather jacket) for 100 and I didn't even try them. I don't know how I could be that naive. When I came home my wife asked if that's Armani, and I didn't bother, because both clothes seem good enough for this money. I'm not dissapointed, I just don't selling to be done like this.

I've been reading the reports about the Italian men asking for directions. I too was approached by some guy pretending to be Italian. His English was impeccable, but with an accent. He asked for directions to the airport. (There was road construction in the area). I gave him directions and he offered me a gift, a free leather jacket. He said he didn't want to lug it and these others through the airport. After showing me four leather jackets, he asked me which one I wanted. I said any of them would be fine. Then he asked me if I could help him buy a cowboy hat for his son before he flew back to Rome. Sure.... I gave him some money to buy a hat, then some money for gas for his rental car, so he gave me four jackets. Reading the other updates, I had to laugh my butt off because the jackets made my car smell like petrol also. I took a sharp craft knife to an area inside the pocket and discovered the jackets aren't leather at all, but a very soft vinyl. I donated them to charity. At least some poor person will have a stylish fake jacket this winter. Possibly the petrol odor will mask the body order. Ha! I'm so glad I found this site, I was feeling like the biggest fool in the world. Turns out these hucksters are fooling people all over the world!

Hello!

I live in France (near from Paris), and yesterday when i was refuelling my car, a man in another nice car called me (it seems that it was a renting car, i dont know exactly).
He said that he was italian, him and his friend were back from a fashion business meeting in Paris.
They said that they were searching the Charles de Gaulles airport then after i gave the direction he said the same thing "that he wanted to get rid of his samples to save taking them back to Italy".
I was a little confused at this time. After a long discussing he made me bought: 2 jackets and a business suit for 240. (i'am young and naive ...)
All of these were fakes ... nice ones but fakes.

It seems thats not a simple man, but a real international network.
