I am in the process of rebuilding my credit and was told that emporium.com is a good choice because they will not put a hard inquiry on your credit report and they will report your payment history to the credit agencies.  I was approved for a $1200 line of credit and I was told i have to make my first order within 30 days and that it must be a "lease" of $100 or more.  I went ahead and bought a watch and it was delivered and it is a good watch.  The problem i have is that they are not reporting to the credit agencies and the customer service agent actually told me they do not do that anymore.  For me, that was the only reason for setting up the account.  Several websites including their own mention that it is a great place to rebuild credit as they report to the credit agencies your payment history.  Obviously they are misrepresenting that and I made a $100 purchasd for nothing.

Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter.  We are sorry for the inadvertent mistake that occurred on our website.  We were not aware of the fact that the website was still messaging that our program could be used to help build or rebuild credit.  The messaging has since been corrected.  We realize that this is rather disappointing knowing that you had a certain expectation of what was going to occur when you took out the lease with Emporium.  We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and we realize that you took out a lease under the impression that this would build your credit.  If you have any questions regarding this please contact us at escalations@vnuretail.com with your full name, email address and order number.
