En Garde Protective Services I was discriminated against because I am black ,and openly gay often. I was wrongfully terminated after being with the company for 6 months and taking 1 sick day.My paycheck was never ready on payday like other employees mines was ready at 1:00 that evening if the boss Elaina was upset at me that day vs. 9:00 a.m . for everyone else HOUSTON Texas
I was hired on at En Garde from October of 2016 to March of 2017, and the boss Elaina was rude, disrespectful, and often mentally abusive to me. I would often call her to inform her my concerns of safety about a job site and she would hang up in my face ,regardless of the life or death safety issue involved. The company had a cash advance perk upon approval from boss Elaina, but if she didn't like you as a person this perk didn't apply to you. I was a hard working single man and don't believe in missing work.
February 27, after being with the company for 5 months and no sick days taken I called in sick at 6:45 p.m. for a shift scheduled to start at 11:00 p.m. I was answered, and told by Elaina no I can't call in they are expecting you at your shift,and as usual she hung up in my face. She didn't even ask what was wrong with me or what my illness was, God forbid I could have been alot sicker or fatally wounded,and all she said was no you can't call off and hung up in my face as usual. I didn't attend my shift that night,but called her the next day expecting this vindictive woman to retaliate.
I was informed by her to come turn my uniforms in and I was no longer an employee. I attempted to tell her why was this and I never called off but as usual she hung the phone up in my face. Please don't work for this company the boss Elaina is unprofessional, racist, rude, a bully,and very demeaning. It's perplexing to me the boss of a company who help enforce laws often breaks them herself. Your paycheck will not be correct alot and if you ask Elaina about it she will just hang up in your face. I also believe she was doing spiritual warfare against me at job sites, but I am a Christian. I advise you to don't work here but if you do you better be a Christian and possess the fruits of the spirit.
