i was a victim of encore marketing's technique of"negative option" advertising. i was charged a total of $59.60/ month by 3 different companies: easy saver,ez leisure, and american home source. i was billed over $1000.00 over many months. i was in nicaragua for the most part and used my credit card only for business expenses. i had initially signed up for a free trial home foreclosure service. i agreed to the other free trial services after a 15 minute monologue by a phone bank operator. after canceling the free trial, they continued to charge me. mybad, i never checked my statements. after disputing the charges with visa i got back $300.00 of MY money but they still owed me $712.80. i then began to do some googling and found that encore marketing is a huge megamillion dollar company that is worldwide. but they own a publishing company called " roman and littlefield publishing company" whose ceo is stanley d. plotnick. low and behold he is also the ceo of encore! i then called his office # (1-301-459-8020) and left a message with the secretary saying that i would be calling at least 2 times a day until i got a full refund. i was directed to "tom", the director of consumer airs who then gave me a full refund. you must have the patience to get past the phone banks and google to get inside info on these companies. once you have broken through the insulation and isolation of the execs you are in. then begin to make them all very uncomfortable but in a nice way. it is your money they stole, after all. never use the 1-800 numbers. they are a dead end. be polite but firm and insistent. let them know you are never going away. get emails. there are a variety of information sources on the internet that provide exec. info for big companies. they are victims of their own greed because of the internet. they can't hide anymore. thanks, joe gilbert

Similar Company Name but NOT the Company Charging Credit Cards.

#2General Comment

As our company, Encore Marketing Solutions shares a similar name to Encore Marketing International. We have received numerous calls from people upset that we have apparently been making unauthorized monthly charges to their credit cards for $14.95 or similar amounts.

This is of course, very disappointing to us, as we absolutely do not charge any monthly charges to anyones credit cards.

Even more disappointing is that there are apparently a number of financial institutions that are giving our company phone number and details to their card holders telling them to contact us to resolve the charge. How these banks can connect our company to any of these charges, other then the similarity in our companies names, is beyond us. Merchant numbers etc. would show immediately that these charges are not coming from us.

I would like to assure anyone who has had any such charges put on their credit card, it is not coming from Encore Marketing Solutions. We are a small company based in Silicon Valley CA, I'm the owner of the company and can be contacted via email or phone should anyone have questions regarding such charges.
