Energizer Moving and Storage are thieves and Budget Van Lines are no better since they hired these crooks and lied to me.    I hired Budget Van Lines to move my household goods from San Diego, CA to Jackson, TN.   They handed the job to Energizer Moving & Storage 1055 E. Tropicana Ave. #450 Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Budget Van Lines lied to me as I had asked them if my household goods would stay in the truck that it was loaded into until it arrived in Jackson, TN.   They said it would but that was not the case, it was unloaded into a warehouse in Las Vegas, NV and reloaded onto another truck.

After the Penske truck was loaded at my home (practically midnight)  I was shaken down by one of the two movers.   I was especially nice to them making sure they were well hydrated and fed them dinner in my dining room.   He increased the amount I owed plus asked for a personal check for $700 made out to him. I felt I had no choices, and was hoping that he would not steal my stuff if I gave him the check.  I told him I felt like I was in a scene from the "Sopranos". Approximately 6 containers are missing. Some of these containers contained my desktop pc and flat screen monitor, a Boise radio, and many of my cherished personal items that can never be replaced, such as framed photos of my family and my 30 year Career Service Award from the Department of Defense.

I did not have insurance. This is not right, I gave these folks $4,949.00 to move me. The original figure given to me by Budget Van Lines was $3,134.20 that included their $250.00 booking fee. That was for 5,320 lbs.

Breaking ones possessions is one thing but flat out stealing needs to be prosecuted. I am devastated, I wish I had rented the Penske truck and drove it across country myself, I am 61, female and retired. Hindsight is 20/20, you do not expect businesses to be crooks.

The owner of Energizer Moving and storage told me to file a claim with his insurance company Anthem Claim Management in  Anthem, AZ.   I did and received a letter today from Anthem stating "based on the information provided in this claim we can find no liability on behalf of the carrier and must recommend to your moving company that no compensation be provided at this time.
