I have not been ripped off thanks to the report previously posted...but my fears we're confirmed...thank you for posting.  Here are my thoughts on Energy Savings Solutions, Peter Stein, Spencer Beiler and EnergySavingsIndustry.com.

I too called and got the hard sell from salesman Spencer Bieler.  I was intrigued by the industry and income potential and the "ease" with which this opportunity could be done.  Then I started asking questions and unfortunately I got not one direct answer and was brushed off with "I'm busy, I have lots of calls to return, look at our website if you want answers."  In other words I was too much trouble for him to sell because I wanted some facts.  Spencer Beiler became downright rude at this point "I'll be here until 5 if youre interested....CLICK!"

Here is what I asked.

Q:  Can I speak with just one successful sales person in your organization?
A:  No.  We can't do that.  We'd have to accommodate too many people.

I have never been asked to take the success of any company I was going to work for on faith alone....especially one where I will never meet the people I would work for, who, by the way, are operating in on one of the boiler room hot-beds in the entire country in Miami, FL.

Q:  Why do you need $470 upfront from me and $25 per month?
A:  For the software.  It's a really good deal, go check it out at Office Max if you like, it's cheaper and better than salesforce.com plus you can lock in all your prospects that way.

Really.....this is sounding like a medical billing software scam now.  Let's get to the real question that he diddn't like...

Q:  Who are your clients?
A:  Lot's of companies are doing LED retrofits, like Macy's.
Q:  Macy's is your client?
A:  No.  Macy's did it another company......before we got into business .
Q:  You mention Chili's in your emails, is that and Energy Savings Solutions Company client?
A:  No.
Q:  Who are your clients?
A:  We have lots of them.
Q:  Like who?  Specifically?  Any names I would know?
A:  (Spencer Beiler huffs and puffs...)  They're on our website, did you look at our website?
Q:  Can't you just tell me who they are?
A:  I'm busy.  I have a lot of phone calls to return.  Look at our website and call me back...I'll be here until 5.  CLICK!

I did look at the website and there were nothing but "case studies", along with the aforementioned Macy's who is not their client, of many companies who have done an LED retrofit, but NONE with Energy Savings Solutions as far as I can tell.  If any of those case studies is an Energy Savings Solution customer it does not say so and I can find no news anywhere on the internet that reports that Energy Savings Solutions has even one client.

Another red flag....in all of their emails, etc. mentioning the millions of dollars in commissions that can be made they never specifically mention any client -- it's always a large airport - a major chain - a big this or that -- get the picture?

Listen, I'd be happy to be proved wrong and have this be a real opportunity so I welcome a legit rebuttal.  The way I have been treated thus far leads me to believe that will never happen however.  Real companies don't recruit like this.

Nick, if this was such a great opportunity why are you no longer with ESS? Yes, being an independent can be a challenge but with that challange can come great rewards. The problem is if the deck is stacked against you and you cannot get the correct information, a truthful answer or work with a company that chooses to use deceiving methods to market for dealers as well as selling to their clients.

What part of Independent Sales Contractor don't you understand? As with EVERY Independent Sales position in the United States of America, You pay for your own expenses. You must have your own car. You must have your own office. You must have your own phone. You must have your own marketing plan.

Oh, but wait, even though Energy Saving Solutions is recruiting Independent Contractors to be trained to sell their services and products, they are still offering them MORE than most INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR companies offer.  The fact is that ESS provides new Independent Sales Contractors with an 800# phone extention, an email address, a world class power point presentation, and all the marketing materials, training materials, business card templates, and training that is REQUIRED to become competent to represent them as an LED Lighting Sales Partner.

ESS is a new business. I joined as a Sales Partner and I pay them $79 each month for the CRM so I can register and sell their products and services, and that's a bargain compared to the $135 I was paying to SalesForce.com for their CRM to use in my previous INDEPENDENT Sales business.

And who the hell cares if ESS is making a profit on the $79. It's a business expense that I can write off! The value they deliver is self evident. I know what I'm talking about. I've received all the materials and I am using the CRM. Have You?

It's a shame that a site like this exists to smear good entreprenuers who are building a legitimate business. I have owned 9 companies and this is the most powerful business opportunity I have ever evaluated and been involved with. The future of this emerging technology and this company is inspiring.

Anyone who has any questions about ESS and my experience with this company can contact me on the company website. My name is Nick Key. In fact, if you would like to learn more about becoming a Sales Partner and an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR for ESS, I can help you with that too. Just don't expect everything to be perfect with this new start up business. Remember, Bill Gates sold computers out of his garage and many sales people quit his business at the beginning because it was TOO HARD. Funny and laughable. Most people would rather be sceptical and complain than help build a new business.... Experienced OUTSIDE SALES PEOPLE only please.
