Enterprise Center Tom Long Bait and switch Giddings, Texas
The EnterpriseCenter in Giddings Texas looks like a reputable business, they sell both prefab sheds/playhouses and build onsite sheds and barns. We needed a barn built at our new home but didn't want to pay a lot for it.
We had decided to have a slab poured under 1/3 of the metal barn and wanted to do this ourselves to save some money. Well, Tom Long said that having a slab under just a portion of the structure would be detrimental to the integrity of the building. He said it would shift irregularly. He convinced us that we needed a full slab and he had a guy who could do it for us.
We paid half for the slab and 10% on the building with the remainder of the slab on the day of pour and the 90% remainder of the building on the day of completion.
The slab guy came out and looked at the site and said it'd be ok then proceeded to break ground the next week. They set frames, put in rebar and vapor barrier and had concrete delivered. Well, the concrete truck poured some in one spot, then another and when he was moving to the third spot he drove over our septic tank and broke through the lid!
The slab guy said he was never told about my septic but of course he was. Looking back, he was probably drunk the day he did his site survey and we walked right by the tank as I pointed out the lid to him! Subsequently, I've done research on the slab guy and he's a deadbeat.
Tom Long refused to pay for the damage to the septic and refused to provide me with a single poured slab- no cold joints. He has my money and refuses to refund it.
Take it from me, stay away from EnterpriseCenter and Tom Long of Giddings TX!
