Insurance Co. rented a car for us due to an accident.  When we were checking out the car, the branch manager Kristen Dipiero ask for a major credit card.  I ask what they needed it for being that the car was being rented through our insurance provider.

Kristen explained that is was required for the deposit. 1st RED Flag.

I agreed and handed over the credit card and drivers licence.  She then started asking if I wanted additional insurance.  I explained that I already had insurance "Thats who is renting the car for us"

She then explained a minimum insurance that they offer for any ding or dents that fall below our deductable. 2nd RED Flag.   She said that it comes out to $21.99. That seemed reasonable.

She never mentioned 21.99 a day.

She then asked me to initial on a couple of circured lines pointing to the line for $19.99 line and talking fast covering the DAY portion of the line item and pointing to a $2.00 PAI for a total of $21.99.  I said "One time Fee. Right? she said yes and kept on pointing down the contract on were to initial.

Upon return of the vehicle by my wife.  She was told that the total 479.93 was being applied to my credit card.  My wife called me to ask what this was about.  I exlplained the one time fee of 21.99 to my wife.

My wife put Kristen on the line with me and I told her she explained wrong when we spoke.  She then said she had the agreement with my initials and they were charging the credit card.  I called the credit card company to dispute the charges. How she came up with 479.93? The total rental days were 12 days

I was pressured with fast talk about needing additional insurance.  She should have made a point of telling me and other customers that this fee is Per Day.

I am calling my insurance agency to explain this and to warn their customers and the companies they represent of the deceptive practices and game that this Enterprise office employs.

I have rented cars with Enterprise through my Corporation and never had a problem.  I'll be sure to bring this to their attention as well.
