Enterprise Rent A Car Enterprise Rent a Car trying to defraud my insurance to pay for their damaged cars Internet
The same thing happened to me. My wife and kids were traveling from Florida to NJ when our car broke down in Fredericksburg, VA.
I had to rent a car since our car would take a couple days to fix,. I went to the 4810 Jefferson Davis Highway Fredericksburg VA branch (540) 891-2200. The agent, ADDISON, took my credit card and drivers license info.. He drove me to another branch that had the minivan in their parking lot,. We walked around the car as best as we could since it was parked between two cars and a wall. He and I did not notice any damage so I took the car?. When I returned the next day in NJ, the agent checked the car with a special ruler that shows the length of scratches|. He was about to go back into the office when he suddenly opened the side door and jumped on top of the roof. My
wife and I were wondering what he was doing. He then told us that there
was hail damage and he is going to file a damage report.
You had to see the expression on our faces. Why is this guy climbing on top of
the minivan. The van had 30,000 plus mile. We drove for 300 miles direct
from VA to NJ. No hail was in the weather report.
I called the Virginia office. Matt, the supervisor, said that ADDISON checked the roof with me. Lie #1.
They needed my credit card because they do not have on file. Lie #2.
They needed my correct mailing address. Lie #3.
It is a neat business model to have their customer's private insurance pay for dents and scratches on their cars.
That way they file with a 3rd party and not overuse their own insurance. Not to mention the kickbacks and overcharges from the Auto body. However, it is insurance fraud and it is illegal.
If they can not get their customers to overpay for rental cars, why not charge their insurance to maintain their cars. Most customers would not mind paying their deductible and have their premiums go up. Not this customer.
Better Business Bureau and Department of Banking and Insurance, here we come.
