Enterprise Rent-A-Car Rental Car Scam Colorado Springs, Colorado
I recently rented a car from Enterprise while my truck was getting hail damage repair. Everything went smooth when I picked the car up, except that there was no gas in it. My contract was noted and they said to return the car with as little gas as possible. The contract also showed the existing damage to the car, including some scratches and a dent on one of the fenders. I returned the car the next day to the body shop when I picked up my truck. All seemed to be fine until A little over a week later, I get a letter in the mail which is requesting my insurance information as there is damage to the car. I called the number on the letter and spoke to a very rude individual who said that the car was reported as receiving hail damage while in my possession. The thing is, I returned the car with no hail damage or any other kind of damage. There wasn't even a hail storm while I had it. I was told that I would have to call the office where I picked up the car to get the issue resolved. I called the office only to be told that they were very busy and they would call back and they suggested that I call the number on my damage claim notice. Of course, I did not get a call back. When I called them a second time, they said that another office picked the car up and reported the damage. I then called the office that picked it up and they said I would have to call the number on the damage claim notice! So I called them again only to be told that I will have to wait one to two weeks for them to "investigate" the claim. I truly believe they are doing this because I refused the additional insurance coverage, which is a whole other scam to begin with. I will not ever pay for additional insurance that I do not need, nor will I ever rent from them again. I have used Hertz before and they are honest, so I will just go with them next time. One to two weeks is completely unacceptable. I also asked where the car is now during three of my phone calls. No one would tell me, but if it is indeed damaged, I should be able to see it and compare it to the damage listed on the contract.

Hello :)
I am gathering similar stories like mine. My Ripoff Report is #1169475. Would you be willing to provide your evidence for your story? The more stories I have, the better the expose. Please reply in a rebuttal and I will send more info. I have also posted a Craigslist post for anyone who has experienced the same thing from this national company. Thank you. denver.craigslist.org/vnn/4622804241.html

Thank you for your offer to help Elizabeth. I did not have to email you because I finally received a letter from the damage claims department that the claim was dropped upon further investigation. I am happy now, but it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. There should be a better process or communication between offices so that this does not happen to people. If the office that picked the car up would have had the original contract, they would have seen that the car was damaged prior to me having it. I am an extremely busy person and this took over two hours of my time to resolve. In addition, the first damage claims representative was extremely rude. I guess that's just "customer service" these days. Anyway, the problem is solved so I'm happy.
