I ordered a coupon book from entertainment.com a year ago. The only reason I ordered it was because it was on sale for $10. I did not realize the company puts you  into an automatic yearly renewal for the next years book.

I recently had a charge on my bank acct. for $45 from this company. I contacted my bank and entertainment.com to let them know I did not sign up for any renewal nor did I receive any notification from the company that they were going to charge my card for this years book. This occured on Aug. 27, 2009.

My bank said they could do nothing for 30 days. The company stated they could not give me a refund because the book was already sent out before they charged my card, and I would have to wait until the book got here and then I could resend it back to them and only get a partial refund. So I waited.

Yesterday I received an email from the company stating they just shipped out the book on Sept. 8, 2009. This was two weeks after they said they already shipped the book on Aug. 27.

I believe they told me the book was already shipped out when I first contacted them so they would not have to give me my refund.

This company is fraudulent in many factors. First, they shouldn't automatically sign a person up for a renewal-it should be the customer's choice it they wish to renew or not.

Second, the company should send a reminder notice through email or regular mail that they are going to charge the cusotmer's card since their company renewal is yearly. With so much going on in peoples' lives it is hard to remember something from a year ago.

Thirdly, they are fraudulent in the fact that they lie about when they ship out items.
