I just want to share my story with others - I stupidly let myself be sold by two young guys that came up to the house just as we were moving in. I blame it on exhaustion, and the fact that the salesmen appeared to be very nice guys. I spent about $140 and my husband hit the roof, so I agreed I would make a timely cancellation.

Under the terms of the purchase, a cancellation is timely if the notice is POSTMARKED within three days of purchasing the magazines, including the date of sale. I bought our magazines on a Wednesday and mailed the cancellation on a Friday.

When I mailed in the cancellation, I anticipated there may be a problem, so I copied the postmarked envelope, just to make sure I had proof. Yesterday, I received a notice from the company stating that I had failed to mail the cancellation on time. On the copy of the envelope provided by EAA, they have stamped over my original postmark with another one from four days later. In fact, you can still see the original postmark on the envelope, so there's no argument that I didn't mail it in on time.

I am in the process of contacting the company and will update this posting with the results of my efforts. However, I just wanted others to know what could be awaiting them if they try and make a timely cancellation of the purchase.
