I brought a 2 year subscription to a magazine to help out some college kids earn points for their trip to mexico. The subsciption was fairly expensive $35 for the 2 year subsription and $10 for shipping and handling. I thought it was a little fishy but the guy that sold me the magazine was pretty good at convincing me it was a good deal. I cancelled the magazine the day after he sold me it. And received a message back that read:

To Whom It May Concern:

Please be advised that a cancellation request for your magazine subscription has been reeived by our office. However, your canellation was not postmarked on time acording ro our policies. Please refer to the canellation guidelines stated on the front and bak of your receipt. Any correspondence reguarding this matter should be directed to the following address:

EAA Inc
Cancellation Department
PO BOX 586
Aubrey, TX 76227

I realized it was a scheme when I received that letter in the mail. The address is not specific, and I know for a fact that I sent out the cancellation notice before the date loated on the receipt. I don't know how they pull off cashing checks that are made out to the EAA. However, I did some research and the EAA also stands for a "Experimental Aircraft Association" and it also happens to be located in Aubrey, TX. But careful!! Don't buy magazines from ollege aged students.
