I ordered an Epson WP-4540 from Epson (through Amazon website) on February 19, 2013. I paid $269.99 + $3.99 shipping. The paper tray immediately grabbed multiple papers. I did not want to go through the hassle of doing a return because time is money when you are in the office.
In May, 2013 the power button started blinking and functions would not work at all. Not being able to print over 20 payroll checks did not make the employees happy! We had to get another printer as a backup (additional cost). Needless to say I was on the phone with Epson for 45 minutes processing the "replacement".
The paper jams got worse with the replaced printer I received in May. I requested from Epson's customer service to give me a different model. They could not. They only sent me a second "new" replacement that jammed up our payroll checks from the first use. We had to use our hp backup to reprint payroll checks.
This Epson model is defective! Epson needs to discontinue the WP-4540. I do not have time to call ever three months to get a replacement. The first one should have worked properly.
Epson needs to have better customer service and find a solution to keep customers satisfied instead of just going down a checklist and getting the customer more frustrated than satisfied. Epson, please feel free to make this right.
I would prefer a refund from Epson in the amount of $269.99. This is the amount I paid for the original printer (without tax or shipping). Epson, I DO NOT WANT THIS WP-4540 REPLACED WITH ANOTHER FAULTY WP-4540.
