Equisite Home Products EHP Carico Major Scam...Keeps Sales People in the Dark and gives False Hope Bloomfield, New Jersey
I worked with this company for little over a month. They paint this pretty picture that you can set the sky as your limit. They promise $1,500 bi-weekly once you go into the marketing department. The scam starts the moment you answer to their post for hiring. They trick you into coming for orientation to "discuss" open positions in the Office Department, Collections and Marketing. Once you go for interview they say they will call you back with an answer. They always say that the office positions have been filled and that they thought you would be perfect for marketing.
Once you start orientation which is for 2 and half days they brainwash you into believing that making the quota is easy (15 presentations per week). The "program" is supposed to be every 2 weeks but in actuality its 21 days . So basically you need to sell over $3,500 in order to see money coming in before the program is over. They start you off at 9% commission but truly is less because as a trainee you need to do your "presentations" with a manager. This person will split the sale and you only make 9% on half of the sale. You need to buy your supplies (sales tickets, credit applications, any gift that you promise the customer, business cards, among others).
You are also charged for your "show case". They ask for you to reach out to your friends and family first and work your way to get more referred people. They also promise "First Call Special" which is offered on the day of the presentation. This can be 20% off the product selected with names of 5 people referred or 50% in products with names of 8 or more people referred. All the discounts offered come out of the commission of the salesperson making it less amount in your pocket.
There is always a new class starting every 3 weeks. They can start easily with 30-40 people and by the time of the next class only 5 if lucky are still in the company. This is not the job to take if you do not have money saved aside for a rainy day. It involves constant spending without seeing it return to your pocket.
