This is what many read when handed their papers for property when considering a move into Beautiful Sedona Arizona. Unfortunatly many soon discover as they settle into what for many believe is their retirement years, actually a last home for many, located in Sedona Shadows the Age-Restricted (55+) Community located @ 6770 W SR 89A , Sedona, AZ 86336 Has become very expensive and run by very corrupt owners and management. There is a woman who seriously believes she is doing a great job.
I accidently over heard her as she has even bragged and boosted of how many people dislike her, I personaly find that so sad in an already cruel and unjust world. This woman whose name is Darla Barrett does all her cruel and intentional harm through the guise of Upper Managment. When I say cruel It is a form of harassment she imposes on many of the tenents I have gotten to know prior to my moving in, I wish I had listened to the warnings. Now I am just sad and have even contemplated suicide as a way to escape this Hell Hole Called Sedona Shadows. This women with no soul needs to understand how she affects we who are just trying to survive these horrific economical times.
I hope I shall someday forgive this souless women Darla Barrett for I feel that is what is right. I can only hope someday she will learn that what others feel from you affects them deeply; Darla Barrett, when you try to control other;s lives and hide behind a corporation which is hurting lives there will be a price, Yes Darla Barrett it is very very important how others feel about you. May you be forgiven for you callousness.People are walking away from some of their last life savings, many on fixed income and there you sit acting as though your already running one of the first dreaded Fema camps of the future,

It is clear that Darla Barrett wrote the rebuttal. I bought in to Sedona Shadows and I am well aware that Darla Barrett runs the place as though she owned it. The residents pay her salary but she did everything to make sure the residents were in her control. I was threatened by her on countless occassions. I observed my neighbors being harrassed so much so they became upset and shaken. There is nothing true in the rebuttal. Darla does not go out of her way for anyone but herself. It's as though she came right of Sam Zell's loins.

It is my personal opinion that whoever posted this has made a mistake or has had something go terribly wrong in their life and is looking for someone to blame so as to not have to take personal responsibility.
Regardless of if one does not like the company, Equity LifeStyle Properties, the manager, Ms. Barrett is the polar opposite of how she has been portrayed. I have lived at Sedona Shadows through several different managers and she is the best, hands down. I am not the only resident who believes this. She is kind, compassionate and generous, often cooking for ill residents and their families, paying utility bills for others, buying groceries for some, and the list goes on. She is not stealing homes or acting out of greed. She only needs to hear that one of her community is in need and she goes to work to get help. Her compassion for all of us reaches far beyond her obligations to her job. She is a joy to be around. She comes in with a smile every day even though she is called Hitler, the Devil and numerous other names that I don’t want to repeat. It is a small handful of people in our community that cannot see beyond themselves and realize that she is just doing her job.
Lastly, posts such as the one I am responding to do nothing but make it hard for us to sell our homes when the time comes to sell. My advice to all is to meet Darla and make up your own mind. You will see the truth! She is great!
