In October 2006, I hired Eric David, Sole Proprietor of Exterior Design to do an E.P. Henry Driveway for me. Mr. David completed the job, with the assurance that should any issues arise, they would be promptly taken care of. I should add that my neighbor also had an E.P. Henry driveway done by Exterior Design at the same time, and was told the same thing.

The driveways were fine for about 6 months, but then we started seeing major separation of the blocks, which weren't supposed to happen, concrete was broken on the edges of the driveway (which shouldn't have even been there), making it impossible to drive over, and the blocks were chipping and changing color.

When Mr. David was contacted about these issues, he said he would come out and fix them. Time went by and this never happened. We contacted Mr. David again several times after that, and never received a phone call back. We gave it some more time, assuming he was busy, but we never heard anything back from Mr. David. The problems with the driveway only got worse so we started calling Mr. David again in May 2008. Again, we got no response from Mr. David.

At this point, I don't know what my recourse is. we know he has done this to other people, our neighbor included. Anyone that we have talked to that has used Mr. David and had any problem at all, say his business practices are awful, he just disappears when there's a problem. Mr. David is a one man show who tells his customers what he wants to hear until he has his final payment.

I have estimates on what it would cost to repair the damage he did, and that involves ripping up the driveway and laying the blocks again, properly this time and ripping up concrete and putting edgestone there, as that's what should have been there the first time.
