Complaint Review: Erie Construction MidwestInc

I paid $42000.00 to have a maintenance free metal rood installed. The main parft of the roof that I can see looks good. A small section of roof covers a gas fireplace. This roof is lower than the main rood and is not conected to it in any way.  On the last day that the contractors were working I noticed that they had not done any work on this small section of roof. I poined this out and they said they were aware and were going to do it last.  When it appeared they were preparing to leave I glanced at the small section of roof and it looked ok. I paid and they left. Something made me take a much closer look. The edge of the roof meets the siding on the house. Instead of cutting the edge to match the contour of the siding they put a gash in the siding and placed the edge inside. The sidng had a clean water tight edge prior to them doing the work, To put the new flasing in they pried his edge up. This broked the sidng leaving a large hole. As I looked to the other side of this secton of roof I noticed even more beakage of the siding. The spot where they hacked the sidng to put the edge they put a glob of non latex calk to cover it. The end result is breakage f the siding exposing the house to water and potential pest infestaion. The roof is no longer maintenance free simce they applied calk. This will need periodic replacement. I am handicapped and unable to climb a ladder. That means I will have t hire someone to do the replacement. For the amount I paid I expected perfection and instead they did a poor job. They called me the day after completion to ask me how the roof looked and what I thought if it.  I told them i was not satisfied and the reason why I was not. The survey ended at that point. I have not seen or heard from ayone from Erie about replacing the damaged siding. The rep who made the sale told me f there wsere ay problems thy would come and fix at no charge to me. That is a lie. They lowered the price some and said I would be good advertising t expandthe busines to my area. If someone calls me they wont be installing a roof once i tell my experience and send them pictures of the damage. If they place a sign in my yatd it will end up in the trash. Do not use this company.
