Two weeks ago a guy by the name of eric balanger stopped by my house claiming to be a corporate manager for some iowa steak company.  He told me he had to get back to the store cause he had 4 semi's to unload and he could practically give me these omaha steaks, like a fool i fell for it hook,  line and sinker.

The next day i was talking to my neibor about it and she told me he stopped by her house and said the same exact thing the previous day. After doing some research i found out i was SCAMMED and these guys have been in trouble for doing the same exact thing to other people, i was told he was suppose to leave me a receipt and verbally tell me i had 3 days to cancel my order.

Eric had not done either one of these things,  The steaks are terrible and i wouldnt feed them to my dogs. If you have bought from these guys and didnt get a signed receipt or verbally told you had 3 days to cancel please contact the IOWA ATTORNEY GENERALS  office to get a FULL REFUND.

Also, I noticed Billy Rothenburger's name was mentioned above in the title but not in the description of your experience.  Billy's last name is not Rottenburger so this leads me to further believe this is a false report.   Eric and Billy never work together as Billy works out of a different office and has not sold in Iowa in a long time.  This is the sketchiest report I have ever seen.  Our company does everything the right way and its false reports by jealous competitors that makes it tough on all of us.  This is getting really old and find it very immature.

First off I would like to say sorry for your experience buying meat from someone and not enjoying the product.

My name is Frank Westphal and I manage the store located in Grimes, IA.  Eric is one of our employees here and is one of our most reliable/responsible guys.  Never would any of our guys say we are with Omaha Steaks.  There is no benefit to this as we are one of the most well known steak companies in the country.  In regards to the shipment arriving and needing help unloading meat, this sometimes is the case.  We have 2-3 shipments arrive a week and at times we are "overstocked" and need the space in the walk in and will provide good deals on our product.  At the same time we do not want our drivers using these tactics if its not the case.  And do not condone it.  Also, we require every one of our drivers to write a receipt and explain the 3 day cancellation policy.  I get a receipt for every sale from each one of the guys every night at turn in.  And every driver knows the importance of this as we have met with the Attorney General and we want to be in compliance with every law.  The problem I have with your complaint is that neither myself nor anyone in our office has been contacted regarding this matter.  The reason I am skeptical of the legitimacy of the complaint is because we are very easy to find online even if you did not recieve a receipt with our phopne number on it.  Also, we have a competitor, who shall remain nameless, that has written these types of complaints of this site and have never been confimed as legitimate.  We guarantee everything for 1 year for taste and tenderness and also give every consumer 3 business days to cancel their transaction and get a refund in full.  If it is a matter of not enjoying the product then all you have to do is call and we will exchange it out for you completely free of charge.  The 1 year guarantee I hope shows you how confident we are in our product and I personally return EVERY call that comes into the office regarding refunds and exchanges.   Please feel free to contact me at 515-986-1085 and I would love to discuss this matter with you so we can get to the bottom of it.  I go out of my way to make sure everything is done by the book by myself and everyone of our drivers and will continue to do so.  Furthermore, Eric is a family man with good values and slandering his name like this without first contacting the office I find to be inappropriate.  If you would have called me first before putting this on here I would have made sure you were taken care of and made sure to discuss it with Eric as I want to make sure everyone of our customers receives a receipt.  But again, if what you are saying is true then please call me as soon as possible so I can get this matter handled.  If I hear nothing from you then I'm going to have to assume this is ANOTHER bogus complaint by one of our competitors.
