Complaint Review: Erik Coffin / Gotham

Erik Coffin / Gotham Gotham Construction; Gotham Properties; Gotham Corporate CEO engages in fraudulent behavior and defamation causing material injury West Hollywood California

Appearances can be deceiving. Gotham appears to be a shell company and regularly solicits and accepts money for services beyond its capabilities. This company is essentially a middleman that provides no actual service or expertise. Erik Coffin caused my investment firm significant reputational damage within the California real estate community by mismanaging funds and damaging relationships with key vendors/partners through non-payment and abusive, defamatory behavior. I encourage all companies exploring Gotham to go beyond deal-specific financial due diligence and weigh the overall reputational and financial hazards of trusting Mr. Coffin. Stay away!

I wish to clarify the meaning of this report and to emphasize it as simply an expression of opinion and perceptions, NOT necessarily a personally verified fact. In no way, shape, or form does the author intend to allege illegal activity. There's simply not enough information to know either way. Any words or statements in the report that might be construed as legal constructs or legal allegations should be considered retracted, as I am not an attorney, and have never retained legal representation or sought legal advice in connection to any dealings with Gotham or its representatives. There has never been a written contractual or legal relationship between 'Burned Investor' and Gotham. It is for this reason the original report omitted any mention of specific details.

That said, I do stand by my assertion that one should proceed with caution when dealing with Gotham or any business without considering more than just the financial angle of any given deal. I have reason to believe I was misled, just not perhaps at a level constituting illegality. Perhaps we simply didn't do a good enough job with diligence, or were a little naive. Gotham is a company in good standing. So are many companies. Just be careful out there.

This is the author of the original report. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, my submitted updates have not been posted to the website. I would like to clarify some ambiguity and retract the potential misuse of legal terms found in the original statement.

The author again wishes to stress the report is an opinion; no arbitration or legal claims have been pursued, and no legal/criminal improprieties are alleged; any interpretation otherwise is not the author's intent and statements leading to such interpretation were made in error. I sincerely apologize for any potential errors in unknowingly using legal terminology that potentially blurred the line between expressed opinion/perception and alleged facts.
