Here is a scam to be on the lookout for. I bought several watches from Ernie Romers of watchuseek.com which is a website he owns that portrays itself as an independent third party for people to use to talk about watches in watch forums. Romers also has a buying and selling area.

On his buying and selling area called Sales Corner and on other watch forums he started listing watches from the brands Uhr-Kraft, Aristo, U-Boat, and 4 Star Watches. He also claims to be an authorized dealer for these brands and you can see that on his website. On his website he claims that these watches are "Made in Germany."

I bought twentyl pieces from him at "huge discounts" according to him and I spent $8,564.00 dollars on these watches. I even got ripped off with importation due to the fact that his invoice showed the amount I paid which was about $8200.00 more than the watches were worth combined. He stole $8200.00 or so from me. I had big dreams, but now they are ruined because of this evil con artist.

But then I go to get these watches appraised, but I get laughed out of the store. They tell me that these watches have mineral glass crystals which will easily break and scratch and that these are only used on the cheapest of watches. They then pointed out that the movements are poorly finished and obviously that no care was put into the construction. They showed me in a catalog of watch movements that these "made in Germany" watches actually used some of the cheapest Chinese movements that cost about $8.00 US. They then explained that the cases would have only cost a few dollars. The straps were junk too. And I paid several thousand dollars for these pieces of garbage!!!

I emailed him about this with no response. I called him and he was too busy to talk to me. I have tried to get ahold of him but it won't work. He had asked me to send the money to his bank: RABOBANK IBAN NL53 RABO 0108 9046 87 - BIC/Swiftcode RABONL2U
KvK nr. 20106345, VAT nr. NL 0424.46.776.B01
by wire transfer so I couldn't get my money back. And I waited more than 30 days to find this out so I am just screwed. I wasted several thousand dollars that I had been saving to start buying and selling watches on the internet and thought I was getting a steal of a deal, but I can't sell these and live with myself by screwing somebody.

So then I go on with my investigation, and I discover that Romers not only deceptively markets these as a third party and lies to make you believe that these are fine timepieces, but he also is part owner of these brands. He is acting like a member of the press to con you and me out of his products by saying all of these good things and we believe members of the press because their integrity is so high.

Mr. Romers, please give me my money back. I earned it. You didn't. You need to quit ripping people off with your con game. You are one of the sickest people in the world. Quit conning innocent people. Price your pieces of junk watches at the appropriate low prices and tell people that they are junk made in China rather than lying to convince people that they are made in Germany.

You can see many of the watches for the brands listed above on the millionsmart.com website and on the globalsources.com website.

This fraudulent activity has to stop. I hope that if I don't get my money back that at least if there are enough complaints about this criminal then maybe the authorities will shut him down and put him in jail where he belongs.

Romers, I am going to put forth the strongest effort to have your illegal con games shut down. You wait and see. You stole from the wrong person!

What a smart con artist you were. Now I hope you rot in prison!

Finally decided to take your fraudulent money and retire, I see. ( ablogtowatch.com/watchuseek-com-under-new-management-interview-founder/ ) Nice try. It won't repair your reputation or stop any proceedings against you.

Truth Starting To Hurt, Ernie?

It is unfortunate that the gentleman did not do his research before coming across you.

1) You consistently ban any WUS member who questions the false claims made by the companies who pay you to advertise their watches. This includes spreading many claims of non-existent patents.

2) You advertise "Made in (Germany, etc)" watches that are assembled from asian parts and falsely sold as European "micro brands".

3) You attempt to threaten other watch sites who post the truth about you and WUS.

Sadly, there is no penalty for separating the unwise from their money. All we who have been banned from your electronic info-mercial is spread the truth where we can. And, yes, I can and will support all the above from posts on other sites, so try my patience at your own risk.

Regards,

I don't get it it is so easy to get someones name thruogh the mud, without good verifying. The strange thing is that the poster remains anonymous, while the one accused is put here with his full name and adress, telephone number and banknumber. Well, every fool can take these information of the Watch U Seek website of course.

I am a moderator of one of the fora, but in the past I have also bought watches from Ernie.

All e-mails are replied fast and promptly by Ernie. He is also a well respected person under watch collecors worldwide!
This is why he is an authorized dealer of major watch brands and never sell you fake products.

Apparently someone has a problem with me and thinks he can ruin my good reputation and business by stating lies. I wonder why this site allows such accusations and lies without confirmation or investigation. I invite all and everyone to contact the manufacturers of all the brands of which I am an authorized dealer. They will tell you the truth. It is obvious I did not sell "Don" from Houston any watches at all, nor did I make him pay by bank transfer any money at all. Why not contact me by e-mail or phone and let me know your true identity and it will be my pleasure to press legal charges against you.
