I too responded to an ad for work from home on career builder.com. I was told that I would receive a check in the mail and I was to deposit it into my bank and wait for funds to clear which would take aproximately 3-8 days. Then I was to wire the funds minus my $600.00 commision via Western Union to Hungary.

However, when I received the check something did not add up. The check was sent from New York, but the company was located in southern California. I called the bank the check was written through and the account was valid and funds were there to cover the check.

Still not feeling ok about it, I contacted the company that supposedly wrote the check and have found out that the check number is NOT one of their check numbers and have talked to numerous people and no one has any record of writing this check. Therefore, it is NOT a legitimate check.

PLEASE, Do NOT do business with these people!!! It is definetely a scam.
