I received my Verizon phone bill as usual, but noticed a charge from ESBI for Voicemail Services in the amount of $14.95. I had never heard of this company and did some research, and to my dismay and horror I found out this company has been ripping individuals out of their hard earned money.

I found out through the Federal Trade Commssion that there was a big case in 2001: United States v. Enhanced Services Billing, Inc. for fraud and ESBI lost the case, having to refund a lot of people money.

I did my homework and took action against ESBI. I filed a complaint against ESBI with the Federal Trade Commission. I also filed a complaint against ESBI with the Better Business Bureau.

I then called Verizon, only for them to tell me they could not help me, but offered to put a "bill block" on my account, so this will no longer happen.

Then I called ESBI, which told me I had order the Voicemail Service. I promptly informed ESBI I had filed two complaints against them. Then they said someone by the name of....had order the service. The unnamed person told them she did not order the service. Immediately they provided a cancellation confirmation number. It was not by magic ESBI decided so quickly to "cancel" the service, it was me informing them about the two complaints and I am not done yet. I have since filed a complaint with the FCC, etc., the list grows.

Do NOT allow a scam company to lay low under the radar, shine the light on them, I did. Don't get mad, get even!!!
