I too fell into the clutches of ESBI and knew nothing until I got my phone bill yesterday. After talking to Centurylink this morning, it was explained to me how this company works. All you have to do is open certain websites or like me take a survey and you automatically order this service. Although it is troubling it is legal and not the phone companys fault because you have authorised this service by opening a certain website and giving them your phone #. I did call ESBI and they are going to cancell it and give me a credit but it is going to take 2or 3 billing cycles. Century told me I can refuse to pay this charge but then I will have a late fee for every bill I refuse to pay so the lesson is I will never take another survey no matter how good a cause it is. I am on soc: sec: and really don't have money to throw away but for 2 or 3 bills will have to.
