ESBI-Solo Communications-- RIP OFF Charged my Embarq phone bill $14 for voicemail that I NEVER ordered! CLEARWATER Nationwide

I received on my residental phone bill (Embarq) and I had a "miscellaneous charge" applied on behalf of Solo Communications ESBI. There was nothing stating WHAT these charges for. I called the provided phone number 1-888-300-3724 and the recording said they did not accept phone calls. I then called Embarq and they called the phone number they had on file for the company and patched me through to this ESBI. The lady I spoke with informed me that I had signed up at some free laptop site on Feb. 8th for a toll free 1-800 number. I looked thru my history and email for that date and there is nothing for any sort of even closely related site anywhere to be found. I have NEVER clicked on any spam messages as I know the trouble it can cause. The lady said she cancelled my account and that I would be refunded the $14 in 1-2 billing periods. We shall see then I guess. I am not going to pay for a service that I did not order. I do in fact have a toll free number through Grand Central, so I made sure to ask them if they were affiliated with Grand Central, and was assured they were not. Why would I need more than one toll free number? I notice when I do a google search on this company, these rip off reports come up first, then some VERY vague websites with no contact info comes up. What are they hiding from? Any legit company would not hide all info from customers.
