I had looked at our phone bill yesterday to see why it had increased by $14.95 and found a charge from Voicevox Voicemail for enhanced voicemail services I had not ordered. I contacted the company and they said that the oreder was placed in October 2007 by my step-daughter. I informed the lady I was speaking with that my step-daughter had no authority whatsoever to add anything to our phone service. The lady said that there would be a refund of $44.85 and the service would be discontinued. I called ATT to see why they would allow a third party entity to add service without checking with me first to make sure it was legit and they said that they could not contact me to verify and I asked about blocking third party services and they said they could not block these. I am surprised since other companies including Sprint will contact their customers to verify service changes. It is appauling to me that ATT did not notify me or that they were not even concerned that anything had been added to my service without my knowledge. I also found out that it was through a web site and possibly an advertisement link that all this accured. I have warned others to check their phone bills.
