My son, 18, intended to purchase a motorcycle listed on cycletrader.com in the latter part of May 2004. The seller's instructions included using Escrow-Shop.com as the trusted third party to hold the purchase money until delivery was completed. On May 28, my son sent $2700 cash through Western Union to an agent designated by billing@Escrow-Shop.com. They confirmed receipt of the money the next day.

Shortly afterward, the seller requested more money to compensate for shipping fees. This would have entailed another hefty Western Union transaction fee. Also, at this point, my son and I started feeling suspicious about the integrity of the seller.

My son sent Escrow-Shop a notice of cancellation on June 7. With no response, a more urgent follow-up email was sent on June 9. Still no response.

I got into the act, emailing all the listees on the website. I got one response on June 22, asking if we wished to cancel! I was thrilled just to get a reply; I immediately wrote back, detailing the whole series of events and the many requests already sent for cancellation and return of the money.

That has been their one and only response and it's now been over a month since the first request to cancel on June 7. In the meantime, I have sent 2 other email ultimatums, stating my intent to take legal action if I didn't receive an immediate reply. We have been ignored and we have been ripped-off!! (That was my money that I had lent my son...)

I'm not seeking revenge; I merely want to warn other unsuspecting consumers not to use this company. They are clearly without integrity.
