I contacted an individual on ebay about a boat he had for auction. Even though the auction had ended, he said the boat was still available. I agreed to purchase the boat at a very reasonable fee. It lists for about $14,000.00 and he offered it to me at $6,500.00.

He agreed to use his uncles shipping company to ship it to me for free. He then recomended an escrow service that I could use so that I could safely view the boat for 3 days. The escrow company he recomended is Escrow Experts. Their website is www.escrowexperts.com. I went to their website and agreed to the terms. They would not accept a credit card for escrow, they would only accept a wire tranfer for the funds.

I sent the funds and contacted the seller and escrow company via email to see if the funds had been recieved. When I didnt get any further correspondence from the seller or the escrow company I immidiately suspected that something was wrong.

I have contacted the BBB in Arizona to file a complaint. The escrowexperts website shows that they are a lisenced corporation with that state dept. Lisence# 52693600. I have also contacted the ILCC, FBI, ebay and of course my bank that transferred the funds. I searched and found that this company had done this to another consumer for $22,000.00. She fortunately got her money back.

I hope to get my money back and squash these assholes. They need to be stopped before other trusting, legitimate consumers fall prey. I have always been cautious about business tranactions and didnt think it could happen to me. I guess I was wrong.
