Complaint Review: Estate Shutters Discount Blind And Shade Factory. Kristen Wolf - Ken Montoya.

Hello Consumers,

My name is Mr. Gump from Los Angeles County CA. My wife and I had purchased REAL BASSWOOD shutters for my house from "Discount Blind and Shade Factory" in May of 2004. Two days after I placed my order, I called DBSF and talked to Kristen Wolf personally (currently owner of Estate Shutters). I requested the color I originally had chosen to be changed. She proceeds to tell me my shutters had already been cut and painted, therefore my request to be impossible. I then say to Mrs. Wolf, well go ahead and install them. She then tells me installation was at least two months out..

After many heated phone calls, and bit of investigative report I come to find out I was actually getting Polywood from China, NOT Basswood as promised and paid for. For those of you who aren't aware, Polywood Shutters are made from recycled plastic HDPE - the plastic contained in Milk Jugs. When my Polywood shutters actually came in, My wife and I refused the order. Mrs. Wolf then threatened with a Lawsuit if we did not accept the Polywood (plastic) Shutters and make the final payment. I went to my Lawyer with the original Discount Blind contract stating Basswood, and a sample panel cut in half to show actual shutter content. Needless to say, we garnered enough evidence for a case, and suddenly Discount Blind and Shade was no longer a business. Nowhere to be found.

A warning for all of you... DO NOT leave your self suspect to Kristen Wolf, and or Ken Montoyas thievery. Avoid Estate Shutters like Plague.
