With an order totalling $38 - Canada Post Express Delivery (max 2 days) cost $20 for a 150 gram delivery of herbs. To be exact - Ayahuasca Traditional Package Number 1. The 2 day delivery is now 22 days. The are shipping from East to West Canada using Canada Post and so there should be NO PROBLEM with shipping at all. Three inquiries were made, and twice I was assured that product would be shipped "next week". They had unspecified problems with Canada Post. I asked them to use Purolator or UPS or any other Currier company but I did not get a response. No responses to telephone calls either.

So after 3 weeks, the status on the system shows "processing", the same as it always has. I was told 3 times that the delivery would be made "early next week". I have asked for a description of what the problem was. No reply.

I am very frustrated and if I had not been "strung along", I would have canceled and ordered from another company. Now I am way behind schedule and this important shipment has not arrived. It appears that it has not been shipped. When they WERE speaking /typing to me, they were very friendly and sympathetic. They made me want to give them a chance. I hope they did not totally abuse my trust, but after 3 weeks...

OOoops! Ethnogarden Botanicals Has Made a Comeback

I received a telephone call from Ethnogarden Botanicals a few hours after filing my original report. The call was in reply to an email I sent the previous night basically complaining along the lines of the original report. I was impressed.

I AM impressed.

Jason at Ethnogarden Botanicals explained about the system crash they experienced and how badly it set them back. He was happy to report that, as of two days ago, all of the problems with order processing / order fullfillment and shipping have been sorted. In fact, my purchase had been shipped the previous day and should arrive today. In addition Jason shared his extensive knowledge on the subject of some very specific and rare Ethno Botanicals that I was interested in.

In the end, Jason and Ethnogarden.com proved to be an ethical business person who was scrambling to recover from a serious system failure. He/they did recover and seemed to be doing their best to make the affected customers happy. I was so pleased with the company that I actually placed another order TEN TIMES that of the original (cost).

I have no doubt that the order(s) will arrive on time (the new time). So, please ignore my original complaint because as of now I highly recommend Ethnogarden Botanical.

If, by some long shot, the shipments do not arrive on spec and and time, I will return and update this entry - once again, I would be very surprised if that became necessary.
