I received a letter from Spain with curious spelling of my name and adress format titled, Re: Award Final Notification, signed by Juan Gomez, the Vice President of Euromillones Loteria Internacional.

The letter informed me that my name was one of 17 "selected through worldwide white and yellow pages drawn from 25,000 names from America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania" as an international promotion program and that the ticket number attached to my name subsequently won 615,810.00 Euros. It also contained a Payment Processing Form that asked for my bank details, date of birth, occupation, adress, telephone number along with name, address, telephone and occupation details of relatives. The Form further required me to sign a declaration agreeing to the transfer of 10% of my supposed winnings to Santa Lucia Seguros SA Madrid, Spain as a commission. The Payment processing Form is required to be faxed to a Dr Philip Anderson, the claim agent, supposedly the Foreign Operations Manager of Santa Lucia Seguros SA Madrid.

Apart from the cheapness of the paper, lack of a professionally designed company letterhead and ungrammatical phraseology, it contained the following suspicious rejoinder: "we ask that you keep this award from public notice until your claim has been processed and your money remitted to your nominated account, as this a part of our security protocol to avoid double claiming or unwarranted taking advantage of this program by participants."
