Check received today, October 23, 2006, for $2,992.90 from Europay Investment Inc for winning the British International Lottery. The name (from the check) of the company that issued the check is ES3 LLC. I looked-up ES3 LLC on the web and found that they have nothing to do with this scam and the check is bogus. I also went to my bank and they confirmed that the check is bogus.

It's the old saying "If it sounds to good to be true......".The check looks very real but if I put it in my bank account it will bounce.

I did call Europay Investment, and spoke with Lisa John. She told me it was real and to put the check in my bank account. Also that it should clear in 10 to 14 days.
Another thing I did was to call Banknorth, N.A. the bank on the check, and was told that this is a scam and that the check is bogus.

I want this to be true, but it appears that this is just another scam to get money from honest, hard working people.

Yes you are right that check would have bounced much later on and you would have had to pay the bank back plus a fine.

Just last week I got a similar check for $4880.00 saying I won a Lottery I never never entered and they wanted me to send a tax in for $2900 through Western Union and if I did it would be gone the check at the bank would bounce later on & I would have had to pay that bank back plus a fine.

Yes plus they had a 900 number to call and they said it was sufficient funds but however that check was a stolen check from Masco and that contracting company never claimed there was a Lotto and yes you never get that much money for nothing without a catch and if I hadn't ripped the check and letter up and cashed that check in my bank account it would have ripped me out of my life savings. I just hope that the FBI catches up with them soon. Yes you are right its a scam from some fencing operation to get alot more money from people than what they send you.
