European Foreign Domestic Auto Repair Center Ripped Off Young Female Customer Boca Raton Florida
My 18 year old daughter took her car to be evaluated for a problem. She was told by Frank that she needed new brake pads and wiper blades. This is reasonable enough to believe, but the fact that he charged her over $80 for the wiper blades sounds like a rip-off to me. Also, the brakes seemed fine to us before she took them in, but immediately after the "repair," they started squeeking all the time. When she called Frank a couple days later about this, he said it's probably just from the humidity (!)
When the squeeking persisted over several weeks, I (also a woman) called him myself, and he told me the same story. He did offer to look at them if she would bring them back, which she did, but he said they were just fine - even though they are obviously NOT fine since they have continued to squeek ever since the "repair."

New break pads are SUPPOSED to squeak. The noise is because they're brand new and they have a protective coating that wears in. If you take your car in for new break pads and afterwards your breaks don't squeak, I'd be very suspicious about having been ripped off.
