We had a 10,000 dollar job done this week by Everdry Waterproofing. Mr. McGarey was the representative and assured us of the professionalism with which it would be completed. The job started 7/6 at which time the areas were all prepared for work. Five men showed up to do the job. On 7/7 only four men showed up and the following 2 days only 3 men arrived causing a longer period of time to complete the job.

On 7/8, after the men left I noticed the shoddiness of the workmanship. I called Everdry and left a message for a supervisor to come to the work site. One of the supervisors, Brandon and the owner Chuck, had dropped by briefly on 7/7 but did not stay. Brandon, the supervisor, came around 9 am on 7/9, and I explained my concerns about the ragged cuts for the pipes and the unevenness of the concrete removal. He said it would all look fine upon completion.

When the job was what they called completed, my interior floors are waving and slants outward which will cause puddles along the walls. The crew that was sent was young and very inexperienced and seemed to lack training. The tools used were inadequate to give a professional appearance and at the end of the job, the clean-up was lacking. I again called Everdry to have Brandon come out. I left the message with Lisa who said he would call back. At 9:30 pm on 7/9 he had still not made contact. I pressured washed my driveway to remove the excess concrete. One of the men poured the bucket of water used to clean the tools at the end of the driveway.

Fortunately it had not set and I was able to remove it. The foreman cleaned his tools with the hose right on the driveway with no consideration for the property. I think this particular franchise gives Everdry a bad name and I certainly would not recommend them to my neighbors who are all having the same problems I had. Please advise. Everdry sent the men back to re do the concrete work. It is still not professional but it is a lot better than it was.

Looking at my contract, which I should have paid closer attention, nothing the salesman said is listed. Also on the one side of the house, it had to be re-dug since the pipes were never placed at the frost line as stated. Over the entire job was not worth 10,000 dollars. The salesman said all cracks would be hydraulically filled which never happened and the wall cracks were basically done with caulking. This is the Cranberry Branch of Everdry in Pennsylvania.

I am a sales manager of the largest waterproofing company in central Ohio.

Too often I receive calls from consumers who chose a competitor and now face new problems created by their work.

Check your resources BEFORE having a company into your home.

Consider their BBB record. What do you think it takes for someone to feel the need to file a complaint? Although the BBB files most complaints as resolved, you need to ask yourself why was the complaint filed to begin with?

Your best resource is referrals. Not of the company your considering but of your friends and family.

Concerning Everdry, consider the following facts.
1> They advertise a "Lifetime Warranty". The warranty ONLY stays valid with an annual fee. Is that a Lifetime Warranty or a service agreement?
2> Locally, here in Columbus Ohio, Everdry does NOT pull the appropriate permits required by the city (public record).

BEWARE! There are legitimate discounts and sales in every industry. However, if a company can lower their price more than once it should throw up a "RED FLAG". Sure a lower price is better but how would you feel if you knew you could get even a lower price for the exact same work by the exact same people?

Price is NOT a competitive advantage. If I lower my price to beat out my competitor, he will simply lower his price again. It doesn't matter how low the price is. What matters is whether or not their solution will resolve your problem.

I will leave you with the following statement:
If a homeowner searches long enough they will find someone incompetent enough to do the job at their price.

First off, you readily admit that you didn't read your contract.

Secondly - there is a lot of information presented by the salesman at the time of the inspection - which is FREE and no OBLIGATION to purchase.

I don't know the owner or the crews - but I am employed with Everdry in Ohio. It seems to me that the owner, the supervisor and everyone else did their best to make sure you were happy. The owner himself showed up onsite to inspect the job? My friend - what more can you ask?

How long have you been an inspector for basements? Maybe your assessment of what you "think" should have been done is wrong. You have a lifetime warranty on your basement now - if anything happens - simply call them up and they'll come out and fix it.

Everdry is the #1 waterproofer in the US - hands down. We may not always get it right the 1st time, you we get it right - and that's our promise - for the life of your home.
