Where do I begin, well I first started with Everest College back in 2000, when it was known as Mountain West, for a business degree, had to leave because I had young children. I came back in 2009 for a Paralegal Degree, Left in 2010, because Mountain West was becoming Everest College and when you spend about $2,000 per class or greater it is ridiculous to have 3 Instructors teach the class, because usually they quit. Also the amount charged for classes is unbelievable, I was under the assumption that I would obtain my degree faster. So I left the school and went to Broadview, which promised the moon and did not deliver, I ended up coming back to Everest to finish, because I had spent time and money to obtain my Associate's of Science Degree, and wanted to finish. There were quite a few promises made from Everest, in order for me to return, like, credits from Broadview transferring. I started back with Everest, April of 2012, and was projected to graduate January of 2013, also I was told that I would only have to have a genesis loan for about $5,000.00, because my Pell Grant would run out. Well to say the least, this is not the case, I did fail a few classes, because I was overcome with emotional distress and grief, because of everything this school has put me through. I started to investigate, and I took 2 classes twice and paid for them twice. First I took them in 2002, at Everest, and received a D grade, however I took them again in 2009. Also there was a TORTS Class that I was promised would transfer from Broadview, had my transcripts faxed over, then later was told it would not transfer because they were not stamped Official, which is garbage, because they were faxed directly from Broadview to Everest. I am investigating more, because I have approximately 120 credits and I am only supposed to have 96, I know that some of those credits are business credits, however they should have made more of my classes comparable to my paralegal degree. They also have instructors teaching classes that they should not even teach, because they are not qualified to do so. They deleted the paralegal internship from the school, so I did it on my own, as well as their career placement department, it is pretty much non-existent, in the 1 1/2 that I have been back they have never contacted me to help in the aide of a job, which I had been unemployed for about 1 year, which in turn put more stress upon myself, because I am a single mother of 2 and the bills do not stop, so it did effect my schooling. In the last 4 months the career center did contact me, once, only because I threw a fit. I am sure that there are more things that I will find, still investigating, I do know that The Federal Securities Commission is doing an investigation on Corinthian Colleges as we speak. I just want to see justice.
