I wrote for Examiner.com in both the political and the travel section for quite some time. I never had ONE article removed by the company. I never had ONE editor email me about any problems with my articles. I was never reprimanded or told that there were any credibility issues with my articles. In other words, no one at the company EVER said one negative word to me or indicated that there was ANY problem with ANY of my articles. Then today I go to log in and I am locked out of my account.

I receive the following email:

Thank you for your participation as an Examiner on Examiner.com.  We regret to inform you that we are terminating your status as an Examiner, effective immediately.  Your account has been deactivated.  We appreciate the time, effort and consideration you put into this work, but we feel that your content is not the right fit for Examiner.com at this time.

No warning. No indication that anything was wrong, just boom...you're fired. I wrote this in response:

"After all this time writing for you, you cannot tell me the real reason you deactivated my account? If my articles were "not right" for Examiner, someone could have told me what the trouble was. You give me no communication, no warning, nothing...just shut me down and not say the reason? Sorry. not good enough. I would like to know the reason. I even took the time in advance to ask if there were censored subjects or if political articles had to line up with liberal ideology and you said no. I still have the email. I kept it as proof just in case this happened. I want to know WHY my account was deactivated so kindly be decent human beings and tell me after all the money I made you."

I have not heard back from them and don't expect to. They are apparently bullies who retaliate against writers who publish articles that do not line up with their political ideology. At least that's what I have been reading about them on forums I visited after this happened. The bottom line is, you don't terminate someone for no reason. That is as unprofessional as is gets. The fact that they are concealing the reason means they know it would get them in trouble. If it was legit they would have no problem telling me what it was. And if it was problems with my articles they would not have just terminated me...they would have been telling me right along. I was warned not to get involved with this company and I should have listened.
