12/16/12 I ordered a free sample of a raspberry ketone product and I paid shipping of $5.95. I am careful to read all fine print on these sorts of things. When my credit card statement came, the $5.95 was collected by a foreign company (UK).

The product arrived as I was leaving on vacation, so I didn't look at it. On 1/3/13 my credit card company contacted me to check account activity. One of the charges was from Excelatrim for $79+. I said I had not authorized it. My credit card was cancelled and I filed a report.

On 1/8/13 I got around to going through mail that arrived while I was gone and opened the excelatrim package. It contained an insert stating that they would charge me for the sample bottle if I did not call 1-888-702-5297 within 14 days. There was no such instruction when I placed the order for the free 30-day supply. I never sign up for my credit card to be automatically charged for anything except for my electric and telephone bills. Never, never, never.

1/9/13 I telephoned the 888 number and explained I had just opened the package and I didn't want it. The woman said I had agreed to the terms and conditions. I said I would never have agreed to those terms. I finally hung up because she would not give me a return number, only kept repeating that the terms were stated. I would like to return the unopened package but without a return number I can't.

I looked for the website and found that it has been altered. There are still remnants of the 30-day supply and other bits, but now shipping has been reduced to $2.95 for a FREE TRIAL. Clicking on that will get a screen that asks you to sign up for a 14-day trial bottle. This is not the same thing I got when I ordered.

Interesting that when I attempt to click on the Excelatrim promo, I am sent to Google search. If I click on the companion product, I get the order screen. I'm wondering if my computer is blocked from accessing this. Not as far fetched as it sounds. My brother paid a tax attorney $900 to start work on a tax problem. She cancelled appointments and every time we attempted to contact her, we got a recorded announcement. When I called from a different number, I got a secretary, discussed the problem, and got a promise of a call-back. It never happened, and then my number was always referred to an answering machine.
