Complaint Review: Exede

Exede My husband and I took over internet service account for father-in-law. He passed away. I called to cancel service. Exede said you still owe for an early termination fee. Bowie, TX Texas

My husband and I took over car insurance, xm radio and  the internet service account for my father-in-law.  Father-in-law passed away last week.  I have been canceling the service on all the accounts associated with the address of service. 

Exede refuses to close the account stating they will charge us for an early termination fee.  My father-in-law wanted to live but died of Pancreatic Cancer.  Had he lived longer Exede would have the completion of the contract.  There is no consideration in cancelling the account because we were paying the account and the account was under our name even though the service address is not our service address.

After much red tape, I was ocntacted by a very kind and considerate gentleman with Exede Wildbule ViaSat.  He was very considerate and understanding in the fact that the customer ant the billing address and billing telephone number who had benefit of the service had passed away.    There is nothing in the agreeement regards to cancellation of service due to death.    I am so thankful for the kindness of the gentleman at Exede WIldblue ViaSat and hope he can educate others in compassion and good judgement.  We will not be charged the early termination fee for the service at my father-in-laws address.
