Complaint Review: Expan Inc. (Dominic/Dave)

Two guys in a van came and knocked on my car window and asked if I wanted some speakers they were trying to get rid off. I said yeah, sure.

So I pulled off into a parking lot and they opened up their van (I think it was one of those big Ford vans, white) and they had about twelve boxes of large, floor speakers.

One said that they needed to get rid of four of them and that I could have them for a very cheap price compared to what they are worth. It sounded like a good deal to me, and I actually talked him down $250 from what he wanted, to a final price of $550. I went to the bank, got the cash, and gave it to them.

They seemed professional, with a receipt-write up and everything. I thought nothing of it, only that I believed I was getting a great deal.

When I get home I search on the internet for these speakers and could not find them anywhere. I found only a few sites like this one, that explain this scam and it was the exact story that I went through.

Also, I tried hooking one of the speakers up to my stereo and could not get it to work, leading me to believe this whole ripoff is true. Please help me with whatever I can do. I would greatly appreciate any help you all could give me. Thank you.
