We booked 2 tickets Vancouver-Orlando through Expedia on January 26; my Visa card was charged January 28: a cost of $1206. I received an email 17th March stating "We have tried contacting you numerous times." [not possible; no record of calls and I check my email twice daily.] Further, the email stated: "United Airlines has made changes to your itinerary. Call 1-800-EXPEDIA to find out." The changes were, that our return flight was now physically impossible: depart Orlando Sept 6 at 8:38am; arrive Denver, 10:35am. depart Denver
Sept 6 at 8:35am, arrive Vancouver 1:00pm.

I got through to a rep. He was quick to correct me when I said that Expedia had screwed up our return flight: the one booked and paid for in January had departed Orlando at 7am; connecting flight had of course, been workable. The Expedia rep said that Frontier Airlines had screwed up our flight home.

I was on the phone with Expedia, mostly on hold, for 2 hours and 15 minutes. I was told by Expedia that I had to pay United Airlines more money to get home, since United apparently claimed it was not their screw up. (even though it reads "United" on my Visa charge, and "United Airlines has made changes to your itinerary" on Expedia's email.I was never permitted to speak to a supervisor. One agent asked me what my problem was. "Why don't you just keep calling Frontier Airlines? You're not even flying for 6 months."

I got no help and was given the runaround. I then got online and found that many people have allegedly been cheated out of money by Expedia.I then contacted my credit card's dispute department. They will get the money back from Expedia. They said that my problem is all too common. It will take a long time, months, to get the money back.

In the meantime, I went to a travel agent and rebooked my Orlando trip. We are going on Alaska Airlines. I want to avoid United and Frontier as well as Expedia.
