Experian-Creditreport creditreport.com Beware, this scam is veiled in legitimacy! They even had the audacity to try and sell me their service... Internet
I was required to submit a credit report with a job application. They referred all applicants to www.creditreport.com. I went through the process of obtaining my credit report and unwittingly signed up for a monthly recurring fee of $19.95. Shame on me for not figuring it out sooner and for even trusting this company with my credit card in the first place. I eventually noticed (after 3 months) that I had been charged $19.95 a month by EXPERIAN-CREDITREPORT, I called the number associated with these charges.
I informed the representative that I had in no way agreed to this service and I haven't even been receiving any monthly contact or reports. I explained that I already have a similar service with a reputable company. Then the representative was bold enough to try and sell me on the service after I had just explained to him that I did not know I was even paying for and/or receiving any benefit from said service, and therefore wanted a refund. He then indicated that I had agreed to their terms and that they would in no way refund me my money. I then asked to speak to a manager. The same representative then came back and said he would refund one of the months.
I find it sickening that a company that provides "identity protection/alert services" would engage in such duplicitous marketing tactics and be willing to sacrifice their reputation and credibility for such a petty gain!
