Complaint Review: Expert Tire

Has anyone been to Expert tire in Milford Delaware and had problems with them?

I took my car there to get a tire put on and within 5 minutes they told me there was a problem. Well it turned out that instead of just replacing my tire they decided to check my brakes and steering joints instead and told me that the brakes were the incorrect ones and the steering joints were so worn they were dangerous and that they couldn't fit my tire unless this was fixed before I could drive the car again. I told them that I didn't authorise them to check and thing and my brakes were correct because two years prior I had taken off my original old ones and took them to Napa ad they matched exactly. I don't know much about steering joints so I said I would get them checked out with my own mechanic because I don't think a tire fitter would be experienced enough to know for sure.

They then said that there was no way they were going to let me drive my car until this work was done... Again I told them that all I wanted was a tire put on, I would take my car to my mechanic for the rest to be checked out.... They refused to release my car unless they did the work there or it was towed out of there as they didn't want to be liable. I said first of all there is no notice saying that anywhere in here and they were not going to hold my car to ransom just to get to work on it.

In the end I got my car towed... Will  never go there again and I want everyone to know what they are like.

I bet they con a lot of people like this, scaring them into getting unecessary work done.

And they are so bloody expensive. I got a new tire put on at Walmart and bout a hydraulic jack all for $6 cheaper than they quoted me for the tire
