Explore Talent or Exploretalent.com is full of lies! First, the 7-day "FREE" trial is nonexistent. I signed up around 12pm one day and decided to cancel 2 hours later after reading up on the company. The customer service agent said that it would take 5 to 7 business days for the credit to be placed back on my credit card. It's now been a month and I still haven't seen the credit. I call and I get no answer! And the free account and the paid account or what they call a Pro-Subscription is not that different.

Second, of all the services they supposely provide is nothing but junk email or spam to the agents email box. Their claim is that they will email your profile if you qualify for an audition directly to the casting departments email. Over half of the time the agent doesn't read it and it's trashed immediately assuming its junk mail. Note, that you yourself could do the same thing free of charge. You really don't need a middleman to do that, right?

Everyone please watch out for this bogus company. I have spoke with over 10 other models who had a similar experience. At least it makes me feel better to know that I wasn't the only one :o). Please don't be next.

EXPLORE TALENT=SCAM O'RAMA!

#8Consumer Comment

Tue, November 24, 2009

Explore Talent is a proven SCAM! Go look them up on Better Business Bureau! They STEAL castings from FREE sites like Mandy and Craigslist and charge money. They also steal from LEGIT sites like ActorsAccess.com.

Respected Casting Director, Industry Expert, and Author, Bonnie Gillespie ( http://more.showfax.com/columns/avoice/ ) has said how her castings which she ONLY posted on ACTORSACCESS.COM have mysteriously ended up on Explore Talent with the dates and some info changed around. GO AND EMAIL HER IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME!

Explore Talent also MISLEADS! They entice people with bogus links such as: http://disney-channel-auditions.com

Some kid thinking he or she will get Disney Channel Auditions will end up at Explore Talent and not see any Disney Channel Auditions.

Explore Talent has been around for 5 years. In EVERY Acting Reference/Business Book written no earlier than 5 years and even in the books written or edited in 2008/2009, there is NO mention of Explore Talent!

Let's reference some of the Top Acting Business Books out there:

In Acting is Everything: Gold Edition by Judy Kerr, she mentions LA Casting, Actors Access, and NowCasting.

In How to Be a Working Actor:5th Edition by Mari Lyn Henry, Lynne Rogers, and Joe Mantegna, LA Casting, Actors Access, and NowCasting.

In Making it in Hollywood by Scott Sedita, LA Casting, Actors Access, and NowCasting.

WHERE ARE YOU EXPLORE TALENT?

No extension?

I spoke with a rep from Talentexhange.com today.  She left me with an extension number.  Yes, I agree with everyone they do want your money.  Don't you want to make money?  It's being money hungry that makes it a problem.

They truly do want to help aspiring models and actors but nothing in life is free but freedom itself.  And as the saying goes... gas, grass or a*s nobody rides for free.  I am going to sign up with them and give it a shot. I have a postitive feeling about them.

Sometimes in life you gotta take a risk.

I just recently signed up with explore talent (free membership), and I got a call today from a person named Glen he left a message and a phone number to reach him. (323)785-2000 this is not his direct line, but the line to the company and I hope that it is useful to those of you needing your money back. btw I did call back but he was unavailable.

Please look at the new listing. Everyone should get together with some lawers and stop this with a class action suit.
