I bought an Explorer range hood via their Ebay site for $399. We had problems with it from day one. After some back and forth, they agreed to pay for repairs. They gave me the name of a local repair company who came out and verified that the hood wasn't working.

The repair company ordered the required part from Explorer which didn't come and didn't come and didn't come. Nearly 2 months went by with many, many stories about the part not being available, or was already shipped (not true - whenever I pressed for shipping info it was never available). When the part FINALLY arrived, it was the wrong part, which Explorer blamed on the appliance repair company. Another month, more stories and finally a new part - which ended up being (in the opinion of our appliance person) a used part. The ends on the connectors were crimped and bent. He managed to get it installed, but wouldn't guarantee the part.

I was so fed up at this point that I just wanted to move on. Now came the part when I needed to get reimbursed (as promised by Explorer). I sent copies of receipts which they lost. I sent them again and they claimed they never received them. I have sent the receipts via mail, fax and email and cannot get them to pay up or even return calls. The amount of the repairs is $239.95 - of which $150 is from the part they shipped from their warehouse!

I just want to be reimbursed for the part and repairs they authorized.

They also do business as Hypermarket Appliance on Ebay
