The basis of this report is to adequately inform other job-seekers living in the southside vicinity of the Hampton Roads, Virginia about this "employment agency,"  which is a big JOKE, lead by Mr. Christopher Park!

First, I would like to state that I understand that it is primarily my own responsibility to take the needed steps to find employment.  However, I sought Express Employment Professionals to help me in this search....needless to say they failed miserably.  There is endless paperwork to fill out and tests to take.

They sent me on one interview with a collections agency (which later was claimed to be a disaster because supposedly, I talked too much about being in the military...untrue!)  My calls and emails regarding job inquiries were subsequently ignored.

There was no follow-up at all. Even if my interview was as bad as it was claimed to be, i should have at least been notified of the status.  I have two degrees and an extensive background in the administrative field.  This agency never tried to match my skills with prospective opportunities.

All this agency does is post jobs on Craigslist repeatedly.  Corporate was no help upon notification and did nothing but defend the staff.  I was basically told that it is not the role of the company to inform me of positions (WHAT??) and that I should be appreciative of their "services" because I am not being charged for them!

Totally unprofessional and unnecessary!  I would not recommend this agency to my worst enemies.

While I am glad your "company" managed to help a few job-seekers, this is irrelevant to my concerns, as it did not help me. If you read the whole complaint, you would have recognized that had made regular contacts with this agency and got no response.

I would preferred to have been told to get lost rather than to be ignored.  That type of reaction is what I despise the most!    However, several doors of opportunity in my field of expertise have opened following the bad experience I had with Express Employment Pros.

I guess the lesson I've learned here is whom to trust, where to go, and that there is certainly a light at the end of the tunnel!

Response To Dissatisfied Candidate

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, June 13, 2013

Being the owner of Express Employment Professionals here in Virginia Beach, VA., it is not pleasant to see that a candidate was not satisfied with our services. We work very hard to place candidates that are qualified for positions that are currently open with our clients. Although it is not possible to place all candidates.

Most positions do require an interview with our clients. Express Employment has no control over how a canadidate presents themselves in an interview, nor how our client will rank a candidate during the interview process. Ultimately, once an interview has been scheduled, the candidate determines whether they are selected for the position. Express Employment cannot be held responsible for how well or poorly a candidate interviews with a client.

Express Employment Professionals in Virginia Beach has placed 277 candidates in positions so far this year. At the current rate of placement, more than 500 candidates should find employment through Express Employment Professionals in 2013. We are proud of that achievement. Our goal is to help everyone we can help find employment or advance their career. While is is not possible to place every candidate, we have a track record of success we can be proud of.

One other item I would like to address. We state up front when a candidate interviews with us, that staying in contact with Express Employment on a  weekly basis is the most effective way to use our services. We have thousands of candidates in our database, and it is humanly impossible for us to alert all candidates when new jobs are posted. Those that keep us informed and stay in contact, are the candidates that are most likely to be placed. In addition, all positions are posted on our website, and candidates are encouraged to call or email their interest in a position.

I am disturbed that a candidate has a negative opinion of my company, but I believe the positive influence we have had in people's lives is significant and we hope to be able to continue to assist people with their job searches for many years to come.
