Exterior Design Studio, under the direction of Mark Ritter, was to finish our landscaping project in the Fall of 2005. The project went uncompleted when the snow started to fall but that didn't stop Mark from demanding final payment for the project. He even had a lawyer threaten me.

The next spring he quickly showed up and did some work, but not all of it. I made a good will gesture by paying a large part of the final third due. That was a mistake. Mark disppeared for the rest of the summer.

Last fall he hastily did a few more things but still did not completely finish the project. All I want is for him to complete the project as promised. Even though I have promised final payment when the project is completed, he is taking me to small claims court.

Why he didn't finish the project, collect the money and move on is a curiosity to me. I notice he is taking three other customers to court the same day we are scheduled. I assume these are other dissatisfied customers from whom he is demanding payment.

Payment Problems After Job Was Completed

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Exterior Design Studio was contacted by this client when the previous landscaper had quit in the middle of their project. STRANGE. We were curious why a landscaper had quit with all the materials sitting on pallets in the middle of the project. After the project was completed Exterior Design experienced Payment problems with the client. EDS had to turn it over to an attorney over 1 year later for collections. Probably the same reason why the previous landscaper quit in the middle of the project.
